Borders to sing
The Borders Family will be in concert in the morning worship service Sunday at Liberty Worship Center Church of God of Prophecy at 120 Forestdale in South Fulton.
The Rev. Danny Walker and the congregation invite the community to share in this special service.

Lunch provided
New Faith Church in Obion will be providing a noon meal of chicken and gravy, mashed potatoes and dessert May 2. Meals will be delivered at the time and place of the caller’s choosing, a spokesman said. Call 624-0040 to arrange delivery.
Plates will cost $5 each and all proceeds will go to the church’s building fund.
Bishop Lee Cook is pastor.

Friends Day service set
The Rev. Paul R. Cagle Jr. and the congregation of First United Pentecostal Church, located at 1105 Edwards St. in Union City, will host the annual Friends Day service Sunday. Worship will begin at 10 a.m., followed by a special sermon from the pastor.
The community is invited to attend.

Goodies for sale
Troy United Methodist Church, located on the square downtown in Troy, will be the site of the annual United Methodist Women’s yard sale and bake sale Saturday from 8 a.m.-noon.
Proceeds from the sale, which will be held in the church’s family life center, will benefit Reelfoot Rural Ministries.
Breakfast items will also be available for shoppers, who can expect many bargains.
“This is also a time to enjoy fellowship with your neighbors and to help others at the same time,” said the pastor, the Rev. Judd Mowery.

Day of Prayer slated
The annual celebration of the National Day of Prayer will be May 1 at noon at the Obion County Courthouse. The time of prayer for areas of concern such as our nation and its government at all levels and our schools is sponsored by the Obion County Ministerial Association. All who wish to participate are asked to meet at the courthouse a few minutes before noon, a spokesman said.

To celebrate homecoming
Protemus Cumberland Presbyterian Church will celebrate homecoming activities Sunday. Sunday school begins at 10 a.m., followed by worship at 11 and a potluck meal at noon. Goodly Heritage will present a gospel singing program at 1:30.
The Rev. James Gunter and the congregation invite the community to join them for this event.

Women’s program set
The annual United Women’s Day Program will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, located at 620 East College St. in Union City. The committee includes representatives from the five participating churches — Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist (the Rev. A.E. McCadney, pastor), Mount Herman Missionary Baptist Church in Woodland Mills (the Rev. James Jones, pastor), New Hope Freewill Baptist Church (Bishop Robert Merriweather, pastor), Brown Chapel AME Church (the Rev. William Smith, pastor) and Greater Victory Freewill Baptist Church (the Rev. Richard Davis, pastor).
Chairman of the event is Edith Stricklin, with Trudy Whitsey as co-chairman and Kaye Hillsman as pianist.
The speaker for this year’s program will be Vikki Stevenson of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in South Fulton. The Rev. Marvin Mercer Sr. is pastor there.
