Dyersburg State unveils new Web site

The Messenger 05.07.08

After nearly three years of planning and work, Dyersburg State Community College has unveiled its new Web site.
This new site has been structured to be user friendly and to provide the greatest amount of public information possible about Dyersburg State.
“We have learned that potential students first depend upon their parents, then upon the information they gain from Web sites in making their decision about which college to attend,” said Jane Pate Vondy, DSCC’s director of public information. “We have so much to offer here at Dyersburg State. We wanted the site to be a great reflection of all that is going on at the college.”
The site has nearly 400 content pages and is ADA compliant. Through the site, future students may apply for admission and current students may enroll in classes. It has an interactive calendar that may be used for event registrations. Maps and driving directions also easily accessible, as are news releases, graduating students’ resumes and employment opportunities at the college. Students who have distinguished themselves while at DSCC are featured on the landing page.
The process to build a new site began in 2005. Prior to the actual site development, the college reviewed nearly 100 college, non-profit and commercial Web sites. The former DSCC site was also reviewed.
The site may be accessed at www.dscc.edu.
