Westview ends regular season with another tie
In their final tune-up before the District 14 A-AA Soccer Tournament, the Westview Chargers notched a 2-2 tie with the visiting Eagles from Jackson Christian School on Thursday at the MTD Soccer Complex in Martin.
The tie score is not a rarity for the Chargers. The deadlock is the fifth of the season for the Blue and Gold. Westview's overall record stands at 5-4-5.
Booting goals into the net for Westview were Will Sliger and Landon Prather. Buddy Legens assisted on one of the goals for the Chargers.
Scoring for JCS were Lang Van and Carter Crafton. Daniels Sears had the lone Eagle assist.
In goal for Westview, Chase Manley made six saves. Manley's JCS counter part, Caleb Thorne, recorded five saves.
The Chargers, the No. 2 seed, will begin play in the District 14 A-AA Tournament at 5 on Tuesday night on their home field. In semifinal action, Westview will take on the winner of Monday night's contest between Milan and Gibson County. Following Westview's game, top seed Dyersburg will take on the winner of Monday's Peabody vs. Dyer County game.
A win in the semifinal advances Westview to Thursday night's championship game set to start at 6 p.m. at the MTD Soccer Complex.
