Artful evening scheduled at DSCC

The Messenger 05.28.08 Displays of artwork and live music will set the scene for the first Artful Evening being hosted by Dyersburg State Community College’s Tipton County Annual Fund Committee. After entering, browsing several artists’ mini-galleries and registering for door prizes, guests will be treated to a steak dinner as a silent auction of original artwork by Lynda Davidson, Ernest Lewis, Mary Mitchell and Jean Wheeler takes place. Scott Myatt will be providing live music and rumor has it that either Abe Lincoln or Mark Twain may make an appearance. “We have a great evening planned. What better way to spend an early summer night?” said Cari Dee Dawson, coordinator of the event and chair of DSCC’s Tipton County Annual Fund Committee. The event will take place June 16 at 6:30 p.m. at the Covington Country Club. Tickets are $35 per person and may be purchased at First Citizens National Bank locations, at the DSCC Jimmy Naifeh Center front desk and from members of the Annual Fund Committee. Seating is limited and proceeds from the event will go to the Dyersburg State Annual Fund. Barbara McBride is coordinating the art exhibits.
