OCCHS REPRESENTED — The University of Tennessee at Martin recently hosted the 52nd annual Tennessee Mathematics Teachers Association High School Mathematics Contest. About 6,000 of the state’s top mathematics students competed at 23 different testing centers located across the state. Examinations were given in Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, Statistics and Calculus. Students from Obion County Central High School who participated in the contest at the UT Martin testing site were (from left, front row) Nick Dial, Kacee Warren, Hope Montgomery, Chelsea Boyd, Kelsey Reed, Diana Whitmore, Megan Montgomery, Rachel Roberson, Alyssa Crews, (middle row) Trevor Bolton, Reid Wiggins, Gage Chapman, Alex Harrison, Alton Alexander, Matthew Roberson, Jacob Bloodworth, Michael Ruddy, Sarah Powell, (back row) Devin Palmer, Joseph Davis, Kerry Duck, Will Miller, Jordan Qualls, Bret Shelton, Matt Moore, Barrett Marlowe, Liesel Grossner and Brad Barbour. Dial, a student of teacher Curt Griffith, received the first place trophy in the Algebra I competition.
