Mayci’s site updated

The Messenger.06.12.08 Updates are being added daily on the Web site of Mayci Hogg, the 7-year-old Samburg girl who was born with a rare mitochondrial disorder and who is currently undergoing Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy at the Integrative Hyperbaric Center in Fitchburg, Wis. The Web site is: www.westtennesseecares.com. Mayci is the daughter of Richard and Kristi (Roberson) Hogg. Her grandparents are David and Donna Roberson and Lois Hogg and the late Ed Hogg, all of Samburg. Since Mayci’s treatment began Monday, her mother has been posting photos, video and journal entries on the Web site. The site also allows visitors to sign a guest book and leave messages of encouragement for the family, as well as make donations through PayPal in order to help with medical expenses. An account has also been established to help with Mayci’s medical expenses. Donations may be mailed to the Mayci Shea Hogg Fund, c/o Commercial Bank & Trust Co., P.O. Box 370, Union City, TN 38281. This weekend, Mayci will benefit from a bike-a-thon and a huge bake sale to be held Saturday from 7 a.m.-noon at Troy First Baptist Church’s parking lot. For more information about the bike-a-thon or the bake sale, call 536-0278 or 446-8368. Next weekend, “Mayci’s Miracle Day” will be held June 21 at Tiptonville’s National Guard armory, located at 2375 State Route 21 East. Barbecue plates will be sold starting at 11 a.m. and the day’s activities will include a bake sale, a silent auction, pay-to-play Nintendo Wii and children’s events. To help work or to donate items for the event, contact Alicia Tippit at (731) 676-8539.
