One of state’s most wanted surrenders NASHVILLE (AP) — Authorities say one of Tennessee’s top 10 most wanted has turned himself in. Roy-Montez Mayberry surrendered on Tuesday. Authorities say the 23-year-old was wanted for aggravated rape and kidnapping with a deadly weapon, as well as several other charges According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Mayberry and a friend raped a woman they were giving a lift home. Information from: WTVF-TV, http://www.wtvf.com Police: Pregnant woman, man, shot sitting in car MEMPHIS (AP) — Memphis police say a pregnant woman and a man were shot while sitting in a car at an apartment complex. Both were in stable condition at a local hospital Tuesday night. Police say the woman is at least three months pregnant, and that the baby is expected to survive. The man and woman have not been identified. Police say they were sitting in the car around 4 p.m. when someone started firing at them. Police had two people in custody late Tuesday and were searching for a third. Officials say 22-year-old Christopher Johnson of Chattanooga was headed to night court Tuesday with a police escort when he ran away outside the court. In the process, he managed to get out of his leg irons. However, officers chased Johnson and police say he was caught within three minutes. He is now charged with escape in addition to the burglary charges he’s being held on. Police say Hassan Osman was going inside his apartment around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday when someone shot him. He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died. Police do not believe the shooting was motivated by robbery. Osman still had his wallet. Information from: WTVF-TV, http://www.wtvf.com $9,000 missing from Mem Frayser High School MEMPHIS (AP) — Auditors report $9,000 is missing from Memphis Frayser High School, where a secretary is under investigation. Auditors said they discovered that bank deposits didn’t match receipts. They quoted a secretary as saying the money was stolen. The State Comptroller’s office has been notified.
