The Messenger 06.20.08 Several students from Obion County recently graduated from Dyersburg State Community College. The graduates included Jeffrey Shayne Pickard (cum laude), Rachel Ann Robinette (cum laude) and Justin David Mercer (magna cum laude), all of Kenton; Amanda Lynn Correa of Obion; Amy Dawn Prather (magna cum laude) and Tabitha C. LeCornu, all of South Fulton; Courtney Lynn Gorton (cum laude), Natalie Page Butler and Chase Christopher Sowell, all of Troy; and Lori Shonna Carroll (cum laude), Heather SueAnn Haw (cum laude), JoAnn Massey (cum laude), Christie Lynn Beeler (magna cum laude), Connie Marie Simmons (magna cum laude), Mallory Burton, Matthew A. Damons, Alicia J. Hurt, Ramona Lynn Moore, Kallye J. Young and Sharon A. Long (summa cum laude), all of Union City. The degrees or certificates were presented at DSCC’s 38th annual commencement exercises. — — — Dyersburg State Community College recently recognized several Obion County students for their inclusion on the Dean’s List or honor roll for the spring semester. The Dean’s List honorees included Aja Leigh Sanford, Kelly Wade Henson and Jordan LeeAnn Fry, all of Obion; Kendra Nicole Nash of Troy; and Robin Jean Long, Lisa Michelle Crum and Paula Kaye Phillips, all of Union City. To be included on the Dean’s List, a student must complete at least 12 semester hours of college-level courses during the semester and earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher for the semester. Among those named to the honor roll were Jonathon Henry Litton and Sarah Elizabeth Griggs, both of Kenton; Jessica Susanne Jones, Nita Helen Hepler and Dirar A. Abdullah, all of Obion; Dana Ellen Freeze, Ronne Sue Throckmorton and Chase Christopher Sowell, all of Troy; and Hannah Jo Adams, Kathryn Jean Hensley and Larry Franklin Preuett III, all of Union City. To be included on the honor roll, a student must complete at least 12 semester hours of college-level courses during the semester and earn a grade point average between 3.0-3.49 during the semester.
