Napoli named Skyhawks' new assistant women’s soccer coach
Napoli named Skyhawks' new assistant women’s soccer coach | UT Martin, Skyhawks soccer, Rachel Napoli, Craig Roberts, UTM, OVC, Ohio Valley Conference, Martin, Tennessee

Napoli
Rachel Napoli has joined the University of Tennessee at Martin women’s soccer program as an assistant coach. Napoli’s primary duties will include on-field coaching and recruiting, in addition to overseeing the team’s travel arrangements and fund-raising needs. “It is great to have her aboard; she brings a lot of enthusiasm and insight to the game. Her intuition for the game will help our staff and her personality will help our ability to recruit,” said Skyhawk head coach Craig Roberts. Prior to joining the UT Martin staff, Napoli served as an assistant coach at Kutztown University in Kutztown, Pa., for the past two seasons. During her time at the NCAA Division II Kutztown, she was actively involved in every aspect of the program’s advancement. In addition to on-field coaching, her recruiting ability helped land many of the top players in the states of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She was also heavily involved in the Kutztown strength and conditioning program. Napoli’s coaching ability didn’t go unnoticed while at Kutztown, as she was hired as the U18 girls head coach of FC Revolution, one of Eastern Pennsylvania’s most successful youth soccer clubs. A graduate of Wheeling Jesuit University, in West Virginia, Napoli helped lead WJU to a pair of NCAA Division II Tournament appearances, three West Virginia Conference Titles and a wealth of personal accolades. Napoli’s leadership ability earned her team captain duties during her freshman year and she held that leadership position throughout her career. In her freshman season, Napoli helped lead her squad to a conference regular season championship, national tournament appearance and a national ranking of No. 10, while also being named to the all-conference squad. She followed that with a second consecutive all-conference showing her sophomore season. As a junior, Napoli guided her team to a conference tournament championship, while also earning spots on the all-conference and all-region teams. Napoli’s 19 assists as a junior were also enough to lead the nation in 2004. In her senior campaign, she helped WJU capture back-to-back conference tournament championships along with a return to the national tournament. She was also named once again to the all-conference and all-region teams. Napoli has also been a head coach at some of the premier soccer camps in the nation, including US National Team and English Premier League Star and Tim Howard’s Goalkeeper Academy. She also worked directly with former US Women’s National Team and World Cup Champion Lorrie Fair at a Pennsylvania Team Camp in 2006. Additionally she has served as the assistant coach for Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Association’s U14 Girls Olympic Development Program.
