UC registration set

The Messenger. 07.30.08 Registration for students attending school in the Union City School System will be Tuesday, and this will count as the first day of classes for the 2008-09 school year. Students at Union City High School are asked to report to the Union City Civic Auditorium on the site of the school at the following times: • Freshmen — 8 a.m. • Sophomores — 10 a.m. • Juniors — 10:30 a.m. • Seniors — 11 a.m. Freshmen will be running a mini-schedule and will be dismissed at approximately 10:20 a.m. Union City Middle School students will register at the school from 8-10 a.m. Union City Elementary School students will register at the school according to grade level. Parents who have more than one child to register at UCES may register both at the time assigned to the grade of the youngest child. • Kindergarten — 8 a.m. • Third grade — 9 a.m. • First grade — 10 a.m. • Fourth grade — 11 a.m. • Second grade — 1 p.m. • Fifth grade — 2 p.m. Students who are new to the school system who have not preregistered for this year are asked to go to their respective schools and register between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. before Tuesday. It will be necessary for these new students to provide the student’s Social Security number, birth certificate, immunization record and two proofs of residence. Buses will not run on registration day. Students who miss registration day will be counted absent for the day.
