UCHS ball team recognized

BALL TEAM RECOGNIZED — The Union City High School boys basketball team, which won the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association and went undefeated for the 2007-08 school year, is being recognized by the City of Union City. Public Works director Stephen Ladd (right) watched Thursday afternoon as crew members (from left) Ralph Riley, Robert Alford and Mike Duncan installed one of nine state champion signs at main entrances to the city. The signs also recognize the ball program for winning five state championships — 1990, 1992, 1997, 2006 and 2008.
