Dyersburg State Community College has announced the addition of new degree and technical certificate programs in network/cyber security and software application. Beginning with the fall school semester, technically-minded students can pursue associate degrees at DSCC with concentrations in network and cyber security or software application. Or, if a person’s job or business requires extra skill in network and cyber security, there is now a technical certificate for those not seeking a degree. The two degree concentrations are part of the computer information technology major available to DSCC students working toward the associate of applied science degree. The software application concentration will qualify students in document and spreadsheet production, Web page design and software programming. The network and cyber security course of study will prepare students for careers as network and server administrators, office programmers or security consultants. Completion of the network and cyber security degree program will qualify students to test for the computer industry’s A+ certification. Questions concerning these new additions should be directed to the office of the dean of the Business/Technology Division at (731) 286-3204. Additional information can also be found on the Web at www.DSCC.edu. Registration for fall courses is ongoing. Classes start Saturday.
