Business etiquette featured in program at UT Martin

The University of Tennessee at Martin Office of Extended Campus and Continuing Education is offering a professional development program on business etiquette for the 21st Century.
“Attitude, Manners and Protocol” will be offered from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Oct. 24.
Mary Alice Burkhart will be the presenter. The cost is $60, which includes lunch.
Burkhart will explore attitude that encompasses topics such as body language, personal grooming, business wardrobe and communication. She will discuss the ins and outs of manners including gift giving and receiving, using titles and meal manners. Burkhart will also tackle issues of protocol, such as written and electronic correspondence, including thank-you notes and telephone etiquette, as well as formal and practical business entertaining.
Other general topics include personal space, cultural sensitivity and handling conflict.
