 Wednesday afternoon car wreck
|
|
Weakley County EMS crews were busy last Wednesday afternoon at the scene of a two-vehicle accident. Bettie Lou Winstead of Martin had to be transported by ambulance to a local hospital. A report by Tennessee State Trooper Andy Forsythe states Winstead was traveling on Hwy. 45 toward South Fulton when a 91 Chevy Corsica driven by Lewis Herbert Brown pulled into her path from Stover Road. There was a front-end collision of both vehicles, which caused Winstead's van to roll several times. Winstead had to be extricated by the Martin Fire Department. Winstead was wearing a seat belt and suffered only minor injuries during the accident. Brown was issued a citation for failure to yield. The Martin Police Department and Weakley County Sheriff's Department assisted in the incident.
