LANDSCAPING HABITAT HOMES — Two groups — Reelfoot Bank and Mount Ararat Cumberland Presbyterian Church youth — joined together recently, under the direction of Northwest Tennessee Master Gardener Vicki McKnight, to landscape two new Habitat for Humanity homes located at the corner of Lilac and Flower streets in Union City. Reelfoot Bank provided the plants, while Hanafee Brothers Sawmill donated mulch. Among those joining in on the project were (from left) former Habitat president Tim Williams, John Horner, Tommy Asher, Vickie McKnight, Tracy Batey and Charles Kemp. Others participating were Judy Pitts, Tommy Gurley and Mike Daniel. Obion County Habitat for Humanity has completed 32 homes in Obion County and is presently building No. 33 in Obion. Habitat is a Christian-based ministry working to change the systems that lead to poverty housing and give even more families a place to call home.
