Singing out

The Keathley and the Tittle families will appear in concert Sunday at 6 p.m. at Union City Second Baptist Church, located at 831 Everett Blvd. A nursery will be provided and a love offering will be accepted for benevolences. The Rev. Eddie Mallonee is pastor.

WM church plans revival

Revival services will be held Nov. 6-8 at 7 each evening at Woodland Mills First Baptist Church.

A different speaker will be featured each night. The line-up includes the Rev. Terry Council, pastor of Blessed Hope Baptist Church in Troy, on Nov. 6; the Rev. James Kinsey, pastor of Sunswept Baptist Church in Union City, on Nov. 7; and the Rev. Mike Hazelwood, pastor of Johnson Grove Baptist Church near South Fulton, on Nov. 8.

A nursery will be provided for each service. The revival will lead up to the church’s annual Harvest Day on Nov. 9.

For more information, call the church office at 885-2033.

Pastor is the Rev. Rick Burton.

Trunk & Treat event set

Union City Second Baptist Church, located at 831 Everett Blvd., will offer a Trunk & Treat children’s carnival Saturday from 5:30-8:30 p.m. There will be free admission and children can enjoy fun, food, candy, games, clowns and a hayride.

This is an alternative children’s event for Halloween. Children may wear costumes, but they are asked not to dress as ghosts, goblins, witches or demons, a spokesman said.

Prayer event slated

There will be a special prayer service for the upcoming election Sunday from 5-7 p.m. at Mount Zion CME Church in Union City. Those who wish to come to the church to pray may do so privately during those hours. Beginning at 7, there will be a time of corporate prayer, according to the pastor, the Rev. Darrell Turner. The sanctuary will be open from 4:30.

Hallelujah Fest slated

Woodland Mills First Baptist Church’s annual Hallelujah Fest for all ages will be held Friday from 6-9 p.m. in the church’s ACTS Building, located behind the main church building.

There will be chili and fixings, hot dogs available to roast, chips, dips, assorted desserts and beverages provided by the church’s youth and their parents, with activities for children slated to include games and a hayride. After the Hallelujah Fest for all ages concludes, the youth will have their own special time of fellowship 9-midnight.

For more information, call the church office at 885-2033.

The Rev. Rick Burton is pastor.

Fall Fest fun set

Blessed Hope Baptist Church at 126 North Maple St. in Troy will be celebrating Fall Fest 6:30-8:30 p.m. as a Halloween alternative Friday. There will be food, fun and games, face painting, hayrides, pictures made of the children and lots of candy. The event is being held for all community preschoolers through sixth-graders.

“Children are invited to wear a friendly costume and join the fun,” a spokesman said. “Come when you want and leave when you want.”

To celebrate anniversary

Jacksonville Freewill Baptist Church, located at 202 College St. in South Fulton, will be celebrating the sixth anniversary of their pastor and first lady Nov. 9. The morning guest speaker will be Elder Dwight Hunt from Unity Temple Church in Christ in Jackson.

The afternoon speaker will be the Rev. Marvin Mercer Sr. and he will be accompanied to the service by members of his congregation from Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in South Fulton. A meal will be served at 1:30 p.m. or upon the arrival of guests.

The public is invited to attend.
