Twenty-two employees of Dyersburg State Community College were recently honored for their service by DSCC President Karen Bowyer at the college’s annual Fall Conference in a program held before more than 150 faculty and staff members.
Peggy Rice was recognized for her 30 years of employment with the college. She currently serves as secretary II for the college’s division of Arts and Sciences and began her employment as secretary for Dr. H. Blair Bentley in social science and education.
“In 1978, I started with electric typewriters; now I work with computers and am working with more people,” she said. “The job and my responsibilities have grown quite a bit over 30 years. And I have learned a great deal from everyone here.”
Also honored for their service were Rodney Alford, Dennis Anderson, Jeannine McMahon, Devalyn Reynolds, Larry Stafford and Donald Thomas, five years each; Danny Fowler, Debbie Roberson and Almeter Thomas, 10 years each; Melinda Evans, Brenda Springfield and Pat Walker, 15 years; Mary Jane Farley, Margaret Jones, Mike Samples, Mike Whitson and Judy Wooten, 20 years; and Don Dugger, Jane Hicks, Henry Lewis and Margaret Prater, 25 years.
Each honoree was presented with a service award pin in the shape of an oak tree.
