Glen French

The Messenger. 11.21.08 Completed arrangements are being announced for Glen Dell French, 83, of Wingo, Ky., who died 10:02 p.m. Nov. 19, 2008, at Haws Memorial Nursing Home in Fulton. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Hornbeak Funeral Home in Fulton with Mark Allen and the Rev. Rick Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Pilot Oak (Ky.) Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 5-8 p.m. today and 8-11 a.m. Saturday. The family requests that memorials be made to Pilot Oak Baptist Church Cemetery Fund. He was born May 22, 1925, in Graves County, Ky., son of the late Clarence W. and Ora (Burnham) French. He was a member of New Salem Baptist Church and had been a mechanic for Driver Motors in Mayfield, Ky. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a member of American Legion Post 26 in Mayfield and a 38-year member of Disabled American Veterans. He was also a life member of the Purple Heart Organization. He had lived in the Pilot Oak community near Wingo all his life. Survivors include his wife, Jackie (Hicks) French; his son and daughter-in-law, Wendell and Jenny French of Pilot Oak; his grandson and his wife, Mark Allen and Melissa French of Murfreesboro; his great-granddaughter, Ella Deanne French of Murfreesboro; and his sister, Eulene Fleming of Crete, Ill. He was also preceded in death by his son, Mark Anthony French; and his sister, Darnell Crider. Online tributes may be left at www.hornbeakfuneralchapel.com.
