Autumn Victory, daughter of Tommy and Donna Victory of Troy, has been accepted into the 2009 Nursing Program at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro.

Lindsey Beth Long, a freshman human learning major from Union City, is featured on the University of Tennessee at Martin’s homepage at www.utm.edu.

Kayla Grissom of Cayce, Ky., is a December degree candidate at Murray (Ky.) State University.
She has applied for a bachelor of science degree in elementary education.
Ms. Grissom is the daughter of Angie and Jai Johnson of Troy. She is the granddaughter of Billy Wayne and Donna Liliker of Cayce and Ronnie Grissom of Fulton and the great-granddaughter of Billy and Mozelle Liliker of Cayce and Harold and Blondel Grissom of South Fulton.
Commencement will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Regional Special Events Center at MSU.
A celebration in honor of Ms. Grissom will be held Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at Cayce Baptist Church. All friends and family are invited.

Two teams of students from the University of Tennessee at Martin Department of Computer Science and Information Systems recently participated in the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) regional programming contest at Murray (Ky.) State University.
The team comprised of Adam Corum of Dresden, Brian Hawks of Union City and Jacob Robertson of Sardis finished second in the 11-team competition at the Murray site by solving three problems.
A second team comprised of John Britton of Martin, Alfredo Ramirez of Humboldt and Ryan Hart of Memphis solved two problems.
Both teams were coached by Bob Bradley, instructor of computer science.
The ACM regional programming contest is part of a worldwide competition. The November contest involved 132 teams in the U.S. from the Midwest and Upper South.
Among participating schools at the Murray site were Western Kentucky University, Evansville University, Freed-Hardeman University and Murray State, a spokesman said.
