Pew rally service set

Bells Chapel C.M.E. Church, located at 207 North Highland Drive in Fulton, will host a pew rally service Sunday at 3 p.m. 

The service will be conducted by Jacksonville Lodge No. 50 Free and Accepted Masons and Order of Eastern Star No. 85 of South Fulton. Both are Prince Hall Affiliated.

 The Rev. Eric McKinney Sr. welcomes the community.

 

Christmas program planned

“Love Gift,” a Christmas worship experience, will be presented by Calvary Baptist Church Adult and Youth choirs Sunday at 10:30 a.m. The musical is under the direction of Luke Parker, Calvary’s minister of music and church growth.  

The church is located at 2250 East Reelfoot Ave. in Union City.

The Rev. Melvin B. Poe invites everyone to attend.

 

To celebrate the season

Troy United Methodist Church will host a Christmas program Sunday at 6 p.m. “The Innkeeper’s Busy Night” will be presented in the sanctuary. An open house is planned in the church basement and the new rotational Sunday school will be highlighted. Refreshments and a visit from Santa will follow in the activities building.

The Rev. Judd Mowery and the congregation invited the community to attend, a spokesman said.

 

Cantata planned

United Methodist churches, including Mount Zion in Union City, and congregations in Hickman, Ky., and Cayce (Ky.) community, will present a cantata, “Welcome to Our World,” by Craig Addam Sunday at 5:30 p.m.

The cantata will be presented at Mount Zion United Methodist church at 5576 Mount Zion Road near Union City.

The community is invited to attend.

 

Group to meet

Oak Ridge Cemetery Asso-ciation will meet Monday at 6 p.m. at Oak Ridge Church of  Christ. All who are interested are invited to attend, a spokesman said.

Musical event set

Union City Second Baptist Church sanctuary choir will present a Christmas musical that celebrates Emmanuel, the King of Kings, Sunday at 6 p.m. and Monday at 7 p.m. “The Name … Jesus” will be directed by Barry Keathley and Allison Butner and narrated by Steve Pinion.

The musical will be performed by an 82-voice choir, with the children’s choir, an instrumental ensemble, drama, soloists, trios and more. The Rev. Eddie Mallonee and the congregation invited the community to join them for this special event.

The church is located at 831 North Everett Blvd. in Union City.

 

Willetts to visit

The Rev. Jim and Judy Willett of Michigan will present a special message Sunday at the 10:30 a.m. worship service at  Manna Ministries, located at 4001 Ken-Tenn Highway near Union City.

At 6 that evening, the children of the congregation will present a special Christmas program.

The community is invited, according to the Rev. Ruth Green and the congregation.

 

Groceries available

The congregation of Liberty Worship church will be handing out grocery baskets to those in need Saturday from 8 a.m.-noon at 120 Forestdale in  South Fulton, across the street from Builders Supply.

The Rev. Danny Walker is pastor.

 

Christmas celebration set

First Church of God in Hickman, Ky., is inviting the community to celebrate the birth of the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, Saturday at 6:30 p.m. music will be provided by The Sundown  Band.

Refreshments will be served in the fellowship hall after the program.

Santa Claus will also make a visit, a spokesman said.

 

‘Little Bethlehem’ event set

The public is invited to experience “Bethlehem,” and meet its people, visit its inn and see its manger as they might have looked 2,000 years ago Friday through  Sunday from 6-8 p.m.

The 10-minute outdoor guided tour of “little Bethlehem” has free admission and free refreshments. Those attending are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food gift for needy families.

The church is located at 1422 Pleasant Valley Ave. in Union City. Those attending are directed to turn south at First Citizens National Bank on Reelfoot Ave-nue and find the church on the left. The Rev. Kenny Locke is pastor. He and the congregation invite the community to join in celebrating the birth of our Savior.
