Obion County Nursing Home plans events

Obion County Nursing Home has announced the following activities for Dec. 19-26 at the nursing home. Friday: A coffee break will be held at 9:30 a.m. At 2 p.m., a resident Christmas party will be held. Saturday: At 10 a.m., First Assembly of God Church will visit and hold services. Fruitcake and boiled custard will be served to the residents at 1:30 p.m. At 2, a Saturday matinee will be shown to the residents. Sunday: At 10 a.m., Troy Baptist Church will visit and hold services. Troy Methodist Church will visit and sing Christmas carols to the residents at 2:15 p.m. At 3:30, Exchange Street Church of Christ in Union City will visit and hold services. Monday: At 9:30 a.m., a coffee break will be held. A cooking class with baking and decorating Christmas cookies will be offered to the residents at 1:30 p.m. At 2:30, the movie “Christmas Vacation” will be shown. Tuesday: The beauty shop will be open from 8-11 a.m. At 1:30 p.m., a pizza party will be held. A reading of “’Twas the Night Before Christmas” will be offered at 3. Wednesday: At 9:30 a.m., hot chocolate and cookies will be served. Refreshment trays will be offered and the movie “Pearl Harbor” will be shown at 1:30 p.m. Thursday: At 1:30 p.m., the movie “Miracle on 34th Street” will be shown, with refreshments of egg nog being offered. Friday: At 9:30 a.m., a coffee break will be held. Crossword puzzles will be offered at 10:30. At 2 p.m., bingo will be played. Wii sports will be played at 3. Published in The Messenger 12.17.08
