A Henderson man was charged with drug-related offenses following a traffic stop Friday night in Union City.
Brandon Joshua Richardson, 24, of 738 Sandroad Circle, Henderson, was arrested on charges of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia at 9:38 p.m. Friday on West Bransford Street, according to a Union City Police Department report.
Police officers were on an unrelated call about 9 p.m. at South First Street and Washington Avenue in downtown Union City when a man driving a motorcycle came through the four-way stop traveling southbound on South First Street. Police reported that he appeared to be traveling in excess of the speed limit and was looking back at police “in a suspicious manner.”
Police followed the motorcyclist, who was ultimately stopped when he traveled down a dead-end section of Bransford Street He was identified as Richardson.
After receiving consent to search, police found in Richardson’s possession a glass pipe inside a pack of cigarettes and a pill bottle that contained seven pills Richardson identified as Xanax and one “crack” cocaine rock, according to the report. |
