Emily Carol (Stokes) Miller of Obion was recently awarded a master of science in nursing degree from Union University in Jackson.
She was among 268 students who graduated during Union’s December commencement ceremony at West Jackson Baptist Church.
Mrs. Miller, a graduate of Union City High School, is the wife of Wes Miller. She is the daughter of David Stokes and Linda Stokes.

Two students from Obion County received degrees from the University of Memphis during commencement ceremonies.
The graduates included:
• Elesa “Lisa” Miller, who received a master of science degree in nursing. Miss Miller, a member of Sigma Theta Tau nursing honor society, is the daughter of Charles and Louise Miller of Union City.
• Shane Petty of Troy, who received a bachelor of science degree in sports management.
