The final plans for the wedding of Christian Kirkland of Chattanooga, formerly of Union City, and Steven Edward Smith of Atlanta are being announced today.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Melissa Uniao and Hunter Kirkland, both of Union City. She is the granddaughter of Patricia Ann Christian of Milan, formerly of Union City, the late James Lee Christian and Louise Moss Kirkland and the late Turner Kirkland, all of Union City.
The groom-elect is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Smith of Dalton, Ga. His grandparents are Alma Grace Brewer of Jacksboro, the late Edward Smith, Ruby A. Queener of Dalton and the late Robert John Queener.
The couple will marry at 10 a.m. Saturday on the beach at Santa Rosa Beach, Fla. A Louisiana-style brunch will be held on The Greens at Gulf Place in Santa Rosa Beach following the ceremony.
The Rev. Ben Wilkes of Union City will officiate the ceremony.
The bride will be given in marriage by her father.
Serving as maids of honor will be Sarah Kirkland of Martin, formerly of Union City, and Caitlin Kirkland of Union City, both sisters of the bride-elect.
Bridesmaids will be Addy Greer of Milan, cousin of the bride-elect; Abbey Wilkes of Union City, lifelong friend of the bride-elect; Ashley Darnell and Lauren Rasar, both of Chattanooga, sisters of Sigma Kappa Sorority; and Carrie Hampton, Linsay Mathis, Lissa Moore and Christina Cross, all of Chattanooga.
Serving as best man will be the father of the groom.
Groomsmen will be Robert Queener of Rock Face, Ga., cousin of the groom-elect; Brendon Wilson and Kevin Floyd of Atlanta, Matt Mathis and Kevin Steere of Chattanooga, Nicu Nastase of Pensacola, Fla., and Andy Stiffel of Huntersville, N.C., all fraternity brothers of Phi Kappa Alpha; Ben Wilson of Atlanta and Lee Edwards of Hendersonville.
Flower girl will be Callie Johnson, daughter of the groom-elect’s cousin, Brett Jackson of Watkinsville, Ga.
Singing will be Ann Taylor of Dalton, aunt of the groom-elect.
Attending the register and guest book will be Anne Westbrooks of Union City and Beth Westbrooks of Kearey, Neb.
The couple will be residing in Atlanta.
