 Yard sale opens

Troy United Methodist Church, located on the square, will have a yard sale Saturday from 8 a.m.-noon. Breakfast items, baked goods, clothing in all sizes, with many larger-sized items, plus flea market items and books will be offered for sale.


Funds raised will go to Reelfoot Rural Ministries.


The Rev. Judd Mowery is pastor.


 


Spring musical set


Troy First Baptist Church adult choir and drama ministry will present their spring musical “Friend” Sunday during the 10:30 a.m. worship service. This is a modern-day drama written by Barbara Cox. a church member at Troy First Baptist Church. 


“This drama and musical will appeal to every person in any age group,” a spokesman said.


The Rev. Vann Kissell, the pastor, along with Tony Jones, minister of worship and youth, invite everyone to attend and to bring their friends and neighbors and join the congregation.


 


Revival to begin


Wynnburg Baptist Church will host revival services April 23-26 at 7 each evening. Dr. Jerry L. Spencer, senior pastor of Sharon Baptist Church, will be the Hall of Faith evangelist. 


He is the president of Jerry Spencer Ministries and vice president of Christian Light Foundation, Fires of Revival and Immanuel Baptist Theological Seminary. 


Song leader will be Jerry Patton and Jimmy Leake will be pianist. 


There will be special music each evening.


The Rev. Larry Byassee and the congregation invite the community to attend.


 


Appreciation service slated


Mount Herman Baptist Church in Woodland Mills will sponsor the annual pastor appreciation services  Sunday, beginning with morning worship at 11. The Rev. Leroy Crumble will be the preacher. At 3 p.m. Eugene McDonald of Green Valley Missionary Baptist Church in Clinton, Ky., will be the guest speaker.


Lunch will be served at 1:30 p.m.


The Rev. James Jones is the pastor being honored.


 


Anniversary celebration set


Bashan Baptist Church in Rives will observe the 111th anniversary of the church Sunday with a special service.


The Rev. Henry Greer, co-pastor pastor of New Birth Temple in Fulton, will be the speaker at 2:30 p.m. Bishop Brenda Greer, pastor of New Birth Temple, will present the speaker.


A meal will be served when guests arrive.


The public is invited to attend.


Elder Rozell Dotstry is the pastor and the Rev. Paul Jenkins is the assistant minister.


 


Mission yard sale slated


United Methodist Women of Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church will host a yard sale for missions Saturday from 8 a.m.-noon at the church’s Christian life center at 1422 Pleasant Valley Ave.


All proceeds will go to Reelfoot Rural Ministries to support the mission work in Lake, Obion and Dyer counties. 


The Rev. Kenny Locke is pastor.


 


Perkins to preach


The Rev. Wayne Perkins will be the speaker at revival services Sunday through Wednesday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church near Rives. Terry Owens will be the music leader.


Services will be 10:45 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday and 7 weeknights.


The Rev. Mickey Hanks is the pastor.
