The Class of 2009 at Obion County Central High School can celebrate in high style May 22 after they receive their diplomas, thanks to the Student Leadership Network of local youth ministers and area churches.
The group has planned fun that will run throughout the night and into the next morning at Golf and Games Family Park at 5484 Summer Ave. in Memphis.
Tickets are $45 for a charter bus trip that will leave the area at 10:30 p.m. on graduation night, plus an action-packed night of fun at Golf and Games. The activities covered by the fee include unlimited go-cart use, bumper boats, putt-putt, batting cages, $5 game room token, a 30-minute laser-tron game experience, a visit to the indoor ropes course, popcorn and a beverage. Graduates will also enjoy a Shoney’s breakfast bar for the price of their ticket.
Seniors who want to take along some “extra” funds can purchase extra time with the laser-tron game and ropes course or buy additional game room tokens.
The bus will return the grads to Troy First Baptist Church parking lot at 9 a.m. May 23.
Students who are interested must sign up and pay the $45 fee by Wednesday at Troy First Baptist Church to enable organizers to secure adequate transportation and spots at the Fun Center, Tony Jones, one of the event’s organizers, said.
Those planning the fun night are working to secure door prizes and asking local businesses who may have supported Project Graduation efforts in the past or who would like to become involved now in this new effort to send donations to the church.
