ART SHOW SLATED — Obion County Central High School junior Refugio Flores set up a display of his artwork Thursday afternoon in the high school’s gymnasium. Flores, son of Refugio Flores of Kenton, won Best of Show Overall in Advance Art. Almost 2,000 pieces of artwork produced by some 250 advanced and beginner students will be on display and open to the public Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and Monday from 5-7 p.m. during the 42nd annual art show. In addition to the works produced by the high school students, an additional 30-40 pieces, made by about 25 kindergartners through eighth-graders who took afterschool classes hosted by the high school students, will also be on display. Art teacher Suzanne Hill, who has been at the high school for 14 years, said there are several best of show awards for overall work and some individual pieces as well. She said Flores won a ribbon for every piece he entered. The students are also taught by Glen Marshall, who is in his first year of teaching art at the high school.
