Dr. Wes Creech of Union City recently earned a master’s degree in sports science and rehabilitation from Logan University in St. Louis, Mo., graduating magna cum laude and receiving the Basic Science Division Award of Excellence.
This degree program provides graduates with the most advanced and up-to-date knowledge of rehabilitation that offers quick and long-term results for patients with muscle, joint and spinal injuries.
In addition, Creech recently earned the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) designation through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). The CSCS designation identifies individuals who possess the knowledge and skills to design and implement safe and effective strength and conditioning programs for athletes or individuals of all ages.
He is also a certified Active Release Techniques (ART) provider. ART, a state of the art soft tissue system, treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. Headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shoulder pain, sciatica, hip pain and knee pain are a few of the many conditions that can be resolved with ART.

Sara L. Edwards of Rives and Cayla B. Kelley of Samburg were named to the Dean’s List at the University of Memphis for the spring 2009 semester.
Students on the list met one of the following criteria for the semester: completion of six to eight graded hours with a semester grade point average of 4.00; completion of nine to 11 graded hours with a minimum GPA of 3.66; or completion of 12 or more graded hours with a semester GPA of 3.5 or above.

Natalie Lynn Rushing of Fulton was recently inducted into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi at the University of Tennessee at Martin.
Membership is based upon academic achievements and exemplary character. Those eligible include graduate students in the upper 10 percent of their class, seniors in the upper 10 percent and juniors in the upper 7.5 percent.
Also eligible are faculty members who possess outstanding academic, research, creative and service achievements.
An internationally respected honor society, Phi Kappa Phi is the oldest and most selective organization that recognizes and promotes academic excellence in all fields of higher education.
