Gleason's Trevathan is USAF academy bound
Gleason's Trevathan is USAF academy bound | Hunter Trevathan, Gleason, Randy Frazier, USAF Academy

Hunter Trevathan and Randy Frazier
After completing one phase of his education, William Hunter Trevathan, a 2009 graduate of Gleason High School, will take the next step in his adult life by joining an elite group of people dedicated to leading as well as learning.
Trevathan was selected as a member of the Class of 2013 at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Co. He will spend the next four years training to become a commissioned officer for the United States Air Force.
His appointment to this prestigious Academy was one of 1500 out of over 9,200 applicants, and it awarded him a scholarship worth $403,000.
To receive an appointment, a student has to meet the Academy’s high admission standards and the fierce competition for appointment.
During the selection process, Trevathan was evaluated on academic, extracurricular and physical fitness criteria.
He also completed applications to receive interview slots with State Sens. Lamar Alexander and Bob Corker and Con. John Tanner.
The Academy seeks candidates with the “whole-person” potential needed to successfully complete its educational, military and athletic programs.
He is the son of Stacy Trevathan and Merkey and Tina Trevathan. He will leave for his new home in Colorado June 24.
