Central FCE Club met on June 10 at Cavi’s Restaurant in Gleason with 16 members attending. Beverly Stott gave the devotional on an article titled “Clay Balls.” Valuable gems had been ridden inside the balls of clay and some of them had been carelessly tossed away before their value was discovered. We should realize the worth of others and value our friendships. Pat Calhoun led in singing “Faith Of Our Fathers” and “In the Good Old Summertime.” We said the club collect in unison and recited the “Pledge of Allegiance To the U. S. Flag.” We discussed several club projects “Day of the Family” visits and food project reports were given. Some of the cloth stuffed bears we worked on will be donated to a children’s hospital. Several places for our August outing were mentioned and we will decide at our July club meeting. The FCE mini-conference is scheduled on July 28 in Jackson. Beverly Stott gave the program “Going Green Energy” with helpful information on recycling, conserving energy and other ways to help protect our environment. Several members brought items for the TAFCE State Conference Gift Shop. Carolyn Maxey furnished door prizes, which were won by Dorothy Kennedy, Caffie Ross, Shirley Kemp and Pat Calhoun. Our next club meeting is scheduled on July 8 at Cavi’s Restaurant in Gleason. At lunchtime, we enjoyed the delicious food at Cavi’s Restaurant.
