4-H to host public speaking contests

The Obion County 4-H program will once again host the annual 4-H Public Speaking Contest during the months of November and December.
Participation in this contest will allow youth to gain several skills including, but not limited to, communication, organization and leadership. Any student in grades 4-8 may participate.
The top speakers from each class will be invited to the Obion County Public Speaking contest, which will be held at Ridgemont Elementary on Dec. 11. The county contest is also open to all students in grades 4-12.
The following is a list of dates for the contest at each school:
Nov. 12: South Fulton 4th and 5th grades
Nov. 13: South Fulton 5th grade continued
Nov. 14: Lake Road 5th and 6th grades
Nov. 15: Lake Road 4th grade
Nov. 16: South Fulton 6th grade
Nov. 19: Ridgemont 5th and 6th grades
Nov. 20: Ridgemont 4th grade
Nov. 26: Hillcrest 7th and 8th grades
Nov. 27: Black Oak 7th and 8th grades
Nov. 28: South Fulton 7th and 8th grades
Nov. 29: Lake Road 7th and 8th grades
Nov. 30: Ridgemont 7th and 8th grades
Dec. 4: Hillcrest 4th-6th grades
Dec. 5: Hillcrest 4th-6th grades, continued
Dec. 7: Black Oak 4th-6th grades
