New Humboldt schools chief lives in Kentucky

The Messenger 07.20.09 HUMBOLDT (AP) — The new director of a West Tennessee public school district has a long commute. Steve Bayko drives 130 miles daily, making a round trip between his office in Humboldt and his home in Clinton, Ky. Bayko was hired in April to replace retired Humboldt City Schools Superintendent Butch Twyman. The new superintendent told The Jackson Sun he is looking forward to settling into the job and moving to Humboldt. The 59-year-old Bayko led the Hickman County, Ky., schools for 15 years.
