UC council to meet

The Messenger, July 20, 2009 Union City’s city council will meet Tuesday in the Municipal Building courtroom at 5:30 p.m. to consider an agenda including: consideration of the school budget for fiscal year 2009-10; consideration of a resolution prohibiting handguns in public municipal parks and other similar public places; possible approval of an interlocal agreement between the City of Union City and the County of Obion regarding distribution of funds from a Justice Assistance Grant Program Award; consideration of the appointment of an interim city manager; issuing a proclamation establishing Aug. 4 as National Night Out; discussing the animal shelter, with Lois Birk and Beverly Wheeler as speakers. The meeting is open to the public. Public meetings are regularly held the first and third Tuesdays of each month.
