MAKING IT OFFICIAL — A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held recently in Samburg park, where playground equipment has been placed through a state grant totaling $26,000 including “in-kind” work as part of the grant. Volunteers took a full day to erect the equipment. Among those taking part in the ribbon-cutting ceremony were (from left) Gerald Parish Jr., Parks and Recreation tech advisory service, TDEC; Obion County Mayor Benny McGuire; Samburg alderman Tim Bunch; Samburg Mayor Larry Gene Davis; Eighth congressional district field representative Brad Thompson; Hanna Grace Neely, 5, and her mom, Samburg Vice Mayor Sandra Neely; Samburg alderman Gerald Alexander; and state. Rep. Judy Barker.
