A Greenfield woman will re-appear for a preliminary hearing in Weakley County General Sessions Court on Aug. 26 after local law enforcement officials found several animals in poor condition at the woman’s home. Sheila Baker of Poplar Street in Greenfield faces six counts of animal cruelty and neglect after officers reportedly found five puppies and a female dog malnutritioned at Baker’s home. One puppy had open wounds infested with maggots on its back, according to the report. The other animals suffered severe dehydration. Baker appeared in court Thursday. The case was continued until Aug. 26, where she will appear before general sessions judge Tommy Moore. WCP 8.18.09 |
