Dresden's Gone to the Dogs benefits from Puppy Paw fund raising effort
Dresden's Gone to the Dogs benefits from Puppy Paw fund raising effort | Gone to the Dogs, Dresden, Alison Turner, Rural King-Martin store

Rural King Lead Assistant Manager Kimberly Drushal presents an $805 donation to Alison Turner, owner of Gone to the Dogs halfway house outside of Dresden.
Out of 42 stores, the Martin Rural King customers were the top providers by helping raise a collective $805.03 that will benefit Dresden’s Gone to the Dogs halfway house.
Throughout the summer, Rural King customers were asked to contribute through a variety of efforts, including a “Puppy Paws” donation drive and an annual flea dip for cats and dogs.
More than 85 felines and canines were treated during the dipping days.
“This year was the most successful year so far. It should make everyone proud of our community for supporting the ones that have no voice – our four-legged companions we call our pets,” Martin Rural King Manager Keith Stover commented.
“These events allow us to bring awareness to spaying and neutering, supporting our animal shelters, adoption programs and general, overall care of our pets with their best interests in mind. Thanks for your support and making the world a little better with your love and compassion,” Stover added.
Alison Turner, owner of Gone to the Dogs halfway house, said she was pleased with the support offered by the local store.
Rural King offered to allow Turner to bring dogs to the store throughout the year for adoption to the public. Through her organization, Turner said her focus is to have people spay/neuter their animals to decrease animal population booms.
During dipping days at Rural King, Turner said she helped increase awareness of the benefits of spaying or neutering a pet and seven pets were altered through the event.
Turner rescues abandoned dogs and finds them new homes through the Web site www.petfinder.com.
