Golf tourney to benefit Carl Perkins Center
E.W. James Charitable Foundation is announcing the date of the annual charity golf tournament for September again this year.
The event will be held at Wynridge Golf Course in Troy on Sept. 17, with tee time set for 10 a.m.
“We expect this event to be even larger than last year, as lots of folks told us how much they enjoyed last years event,” according to Gary Byrd, Chairman of the Board for the Foundation.
“We had 40 teams last year, and this year it looks like we could stretch beyond that.”
Lee Ann James, CEO of E.W. James and Sons Supermarkets said, “We’re looking forward to seeing our friends and associates again this year for another fun-filled day, and most importantly, to raise money for a very worthy cause.”
The Exchange Club/Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse was selected by the Foundation’s board this year, as they have agencies in the markets that E. W. James serves.
Last year, the Foundation gave a grant of over $15,000 to Visions Autism Center, and regularly looks for other 501c3 agencies to support.
Grant applications and information are available at the company’s Web site, www.ewjames.com under the corporate information tab. There is also information about the tournament, with an entry form posted as well.
The event is open to the public, with both individual and team player options. The 4 man scramble event is held over the day, with lunch, a steak dinner and refreshments provided at the course.
