Brotherhood to sing
Brotherhood, a male quartet from Second Baptist Church in Union City, is coming to Martin’s Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, located at 562 Old Troy Road, just off Highway 45 East Sunday night at 6.
Members of the group are brothers Barry and Bryan Keathley, Chuck Doss and Sam Stephens. All of them have successful careers outside the Brotherhood Quartet.
Barry Keathley, the lead singer, is well known for his long tenure as minister of music at Second Baptist Church and as owner of Five Seasons Men’s Shop in Union City. Bryan Keathley sings the high tenor part, often swapping off with Doss, and is general manager of Green Acres Homes in Union City. Doss sings second tenor and is the vocal gymnast of the group. He is vice president of First Citizens National Bank and manager of First Citizens Financial Plus in Union City. Stephens rounds out the quartet as the bass singer. They sing regularly for worship services at Second Baptist Church and often appear on the church’s weekly TV broadcast.
Their vocal style ranges from close, smooth harmony to exciting “hang on to the pew” gospel singing. They sing Southern gospel music as well as contemporary songs and close harmony on traditional hymns and gospel songs. Their music will truly bless you and make the evening an event to remember, a spokesman said.
The Rev. Mac McCaleb and the fellowship at Martin’s Pleasant Hill Baptist Church invite you to attend Sunday at 6. There is no admission charge; a love offering will be taken and a nursery will be provided.

To celebrate Founders Day
Bells Chapel CME Church at 207 North Highland Drive in Fulton will celebrate Founder’s Day Sunday at 3 p.m. Special guest will be the Rev. Michael McClure of Turning Point Ministries in Hickman, Ky.
The community is invited to attend, according to the pastor, the Rev. Eric McKinney Sr.

Fall Festival planned
The churches of Troy are hosting a Fall Festival on the Troy Square from 5-7 p.m. Oct. 31. The event will feature Trunk-a-Treat from 5-5:30, several carnival-type games, hot dogs, popcorn and cotton candy. This event is open to everyone.

Breakfast slated
The fourth annual Young Sportsman’s Breakfast, sponsored by Mack’s Grove Baptist Church at 4580 Palmersville Highway 89 near Dresden, will be held at 4:30 a.m. Oct. 31 at the church. There will be many door prizes given to the youth, with something for everyone.
The speaker at the event will be Morris Anderson. He is an evangelist, fisherman and a big game hunter.
All youth must have gone through the Hunter Safety Course and must be accompanied by an adult. Hunters may hunt in their own spots, or there will be a few hunting spots available.
Weigh-in will be held at Witts End Acres on Boydsville Road near Dresden. Other prizes will be given at weigh-in and there will be lots of food and drinks for everyone at no cost, a spokesman said.

Fall Bazaar planned
Troy United Methodist Church, located on the square in downtown Troy, will host the annual Fall Bazaar Saturday from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. in the church activities building.
Items featured will include baked goods, vegetables, plants, books, furniture, flea market items, toys, clothing of all sizes, canned goods and lots of odds and ends.
Sausage and biscuits will be offered for sale at 8 a.m. and a lunch menu featuring spaghetti, white beans, cornbread, sandwiches, pie and soft drinks will be available at 11 a.m.
The community is invited to attend.

Unusual meal set
New Hope Freewill Baptist Church in Union City will have a “Heaven and Hell” dinner in the church annex Sunday at 3 p.m. Donations of $5 are requested and the community is invited to attend.
Bishop Robert Merriweather is pastor and Elder Ronald Smith is assistant pastor.

Special Antioch events set
Antioch Union Church in the Crystal community will have a fall fellowship featuring an auction, a hot dog supper and talent show at the church Sunday at 5 p.m. Hot dog plates are $3 for adults, with children eating free.
Those bringing auction items are asked to have them at the church early. Cakes will also be auctioned off that night.
Funds raised will go to Reelfoot Rural Ministries Food and Toy drive.

PV fund raiser planned
Pleasant Valley United Methodist Women will have a fall bake sale and luncheon for missions Friday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
All proceeds will go to mission work.
The salad luncheon will be $7 and take out will be available for those who call 885-5203 or 886-0259.
Fresh-baked items will be available for sale, as well.
The church is located at 1422 Pleasant Valley Ave. and the events will be held in the Christian life center.

To honor pastor
The members of New Mount Zion Freewill Baptist Church in Tiptonville will be honoring Elder Marvin Mays and his wife, Sandra, Sunday for Pastor and Wife’s Appreciation Day. The guest speaker for the morning service will be Elder Jerry Mays from Memphis. At 3 p.m., Elder Cleophus Cherry and Harvest Time Church of God in Christ in Henderson will be special guests.
The community is invited to attend, according to committee chairman Dwayne Hensley.

Revival to begin
Oak Street Community Church (Presbyterian USA) will begin revival services Monday and continue through Oct. 29 at 6:45 p.m. The Rev. Rick Burton will be the evangelist and there will be special music each evening.
The Rev. Wayne McLean is pastor.

Trunk & Treat set
Union City Second Baptist Church will produce the seventh annual Trunk & Treat event Oct. 31 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. There will be a children’s carnival featuring fun, food, candy, games, a hayride and pony rides, with free admission. The event is an alternative children’s event to Halloween. Children may wear costumes, but organizers request no ghosts, goblins, witches or demons.
The church is located at 831 Everett Blvd.
The Rev. Eddie Mallonee is pastor.

Revival planned
Revival services with Don Williams will begin Sunday and continue through Wednesday at Harris Station United Methodist Church. Sunday school is at 10 a.m., followed by worship at 11 and 7 p.m. on Sundays. Weeknight services will also be at 7.
The pastor, R.K. Kane, and the congregation invite the community to attend.
The church will also host a country ham breakfast from 6-10 Nov. 7 at the church.
