SCV meeting set

The Sons of Confederate Veterans local camp 176 will meet Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Obion County Museum community room on Edwards Street in Union City. The guest speaker will be John Daughtery from Trimble, a former resident of Elmira, N.Y., where there was a Union prison camp for Confederate soldiers in the Civil War. His presentation will be about the prison camp.
The SCV works in conjunction with other historical groups to preserve Confederate history. It is not affiliated with any other group. The SCV rejects any group whose actions tarnish or distort the image of the Confederate soldier or his reasons for fighting.
