Church pianists invited to upcoming workshop

The Department of Music at the University of Tennessee at Martin is presenting a workshop for church pianists from 9 a.m.-noon Nov. 14 at C.E. Weldon Public Library in Martin.
Topics being covered include choosing music for the service, accompanying soloists and choirs, hymn playing techniques and use of classical music in the service. Presenters will include Dr. Elaine Harriss, professor and interim chair of the department of music; Dr. Scott Roberts, associate professor of music; and Delana Easley, lecturer of music.
All three serve as church musicians in the West Tennessee area. All pianists are invited to attend.
The workshop is open to the public without charge.
