Christmas music set
The sanctuary choir of Union City First United Methodist Church will present the Christmas cantata, “An Evening in December,” Sunday at 10:50 a.m. The church is located at 420 East Main St.
There will be only one worship service Sunday morning so the entire congregation may hear the presentation, according to Dr. David Russell, the pastor. Sunday school will still meet at 9:45 a.m. for all age groups.
The public is invited to attend this special worship service.

Live nativity planned
Calvary Baptist Church, located at 2250 East Reelfoot Ave. in Union City, will present a live nativity scene on the west parking lot of the church Monday through Dec. 24th from 6-8 each evening. Each year Calvary attempts to bring people’s thoughts back to the real meaning of Christmas by presenting this view of Jesus in the manger, along with Mary, Joseph, shepherds, wise men and several live animals. The community is invited, said the pastor, the Rev. Melvin Poe.

‘Gloria’ will be theme
The sanctuary choir of Union City Second Baptist Church will present “Gloria,” a music and drama event with a 94-voice sanctuary choir, the New Beginnings youth ensemble, soloist Jamie Worrell, the handbell choir and the Praise Team Sunday at 6 p.m. and Monday at 7 p.m. Barry Keathley will direct the program.
The Rev. Eddie Mallonee and the congregation invite the community to come and experience the joys of Christmas through the worship and celebration of Jesus Christ.
The church is located at 831 Everett Blvd.
On Jan. 16, Greater Vision will appear in concert at the church.

‘Rejoice’ with church
“Rejoice! A Soulful Celebra-tion of The Christmas Story,” featuring Union City First Assembly of God’s Voices of Praise is planned for Sunday.
“You are invited to join us as we celebrate the birth of our Lord this Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at Union City First Assembly of God, located at 1810 Pleasant Valley Ave.,” said the pastor, the Rev. Tommy Hall.

Musical to be presented
“The Wonder of Christmas,” a Christmas musical created by Phil Barfoot and arranged and orchestrated by Dave Williamson, will be presented Sunday at 6 p.m. at Woodland Mills First Baptist Church.
The musical, under the direction of Beth Burton, will feature both adult and children’s choirs singing arrangements of both contemporary and traditional music, narration, drama, choreography and the use of banners to proclaim that Jesus Christ is King of Kings.
A fellowship will be held afterward in the church’s ACTS Building, located behind the main church building.
The Rev. Rick Burton is pastor.
