Concert to feature sax and drums

The University of Tennessee at Martin Department of Music will host the Tipton Saxophone Quartet and Drums concert series performance at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Watkins Auditorium of Boling University Center.
The Tiptons are an international touring ensemble and are celebrating the release of their eighth CD, “Laws of Motion.”
With a repertoire that ranges from New Orleans “second-line” to jazz, Afro-Cuban to Balkan, the Tiptons create some of the wildest sounds ever to come out of a sax quartet. Their dynamic, playful concerts feature high-energy interaction between members and a range that touches on soulful music from around the world.
The Tiptons have appeared at venues, music festivals and have taught workshops worldwide.
