Pastor Aide program set
Members of Everfaithful Missionary Baptist Church, located at 817 East Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Union City, will celebrate the Pastor Aide program Sunday at 3 p.m. The speaker will be LeRoy Crumble of Mount Herman Baptist Church in Woodland Mills.
“We are expecting to have a high time in the Lord. Come out and be blessed,” invited the pastor, the Rev. Harry Hayes.

Thanksgiving service slated
Bethel Baptist Church, located off the Troy-Hickman Highway, will be celebrating Thanksgiving with a special meal following the 11 a.m. worship service Sunday. There will also be local singing at 2 p.m.
The community is invited to join the congregation for this special day, according to the pastor, the Rev. Marvin Wilson.

To honor pastor
Friendship Freewill Baptist Church, located at 1304 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Union City, will observe the annual appreciation day for Elder Eugene Coleman Sunday at 2 p.m. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Rozelle Dotstry of Bashan Baptist Church in Rives.
His congregation will also be special guests.
The community is invited.
The Rev. Phillip Sanders is the associate pastor.

Harvest Day
celebration slated
Mount Olive Baptist Church in the Crystal community near Union City will observe Harvest Day Sunday at 11 a.m. when there will be a special worship service. A meal will be served.
There will be no evening service.
The Rev. Larry Nichols is the pastor and he invites the community to attend.

Bazaar planned
Greater Vision Church, located on Mary Jane Street in Troy, will host a Thanks 4 Giving bazaar Saturday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the church.
Admission will be canned goods to donate to the church’s food pantry or a new or very good quality used toy for the congregation’s “Toys for Tots” effort to provide toys for needy families at Christmas.
A percentage of the proceeds will be donated to the men’s “Rebuilders” ministries to pay for household improvements for needy families.
There will be vendors representing Pampered Chef™, BeautiControl™, Mary Kay™ cosmetics, Lia Sophia™, Premier Designs™, Tupperware™, the Oprah Bra™ and Mia Bella™ candles, plus crafts, embroidery, food items and much more.
“This is holiday shopping with a purpose,” a spokesman said.
Special service slated
Beech Cumberland Presby-terian Church, located at 800 Beech Chapel Road near Union City, will be hosting a special service at 5 p.m. Sunday.
This will be a time of thanksgiving and praise, as well as the dedication of the recently-constructed addition to the fellowship hall.
There will be special music by Teresa Fry and Michael Poore, followed by a turkey and ham meal with all the trimmings in the dining area.
Dr. Bobby Williams and the congregation invite the community to attend.

Church to ‘card’
the military
Exchange Street Church of Christ will be sending Christmas cards to all soldiers from Obion County who are serving our country overseas.
Those who are aware of service personnel from this area are asked to provide their names and addresses to the church by calling 885-1507 or sending an e-mail with the information to exchangechurch@bellsouth.net.
The deadline to receive names and addresses will be Nov. 24 so that the cards can be sent and will arrive before Christmas, a spokesman said.
Dan Huggins is the minister.

Fall events slated
The Rev. Jessie Johnson, pastor of Greater Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Fulton, and the Rev. Marvin Mercer, pastor of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in South Fulton, are announcing the sponsorship of a Fall and Harvest Conference Sunday through Tuesday at 6 p.m.
Services will be at Greater Antioch Missionary Baptist Church at 500 Mears St.

Hinkel Family to sing
The Hinkel Family will sing at Faithway Baptist Church, located on Highway 51 North near Troy, Friday at 7 p.m.
The Rev. Perry Grills and the congregation invite the community to enjoy this special event.

Thanksgiving service set
New Ebenezer Cumberland Presbyterian Church will host a joint Thanksgiving service Sunday at 5 p.m.
A Thanksgiving potluck meal will follow and the community is invited to attend.
The Rev. James R. Gunter will be the guest speaker and the Rev. Frank Dalton is the host pastor.
The church is located at 1630 Ebenezer Road near Troy.

Harvest Day service set
Sunswept Baptist Church, located at 205 South Sunswept Drive in Union City, will be observing Harvest Day Sunday at 6 p.m. when Living Truth gospel music group presents a concert.
The group includes Grady Fowler Jr., Hal Rogers and Rusty Petty, a former resident of Troy.
A love offering will be accepted.
The Rev. James Kinsey is pastor.
