| Dresden man killed in Saturday accident |

A single-vehicle accident has claimed the life of a young Dresden man.
Mark Jonathan West, 33, of Dresden was traveling south on Hwy. 22 near the North Lindell Street intersection in Martin around 3 p.m. Saturday when his GMC Yukon struck a guardrail and overturned.
West was ejected from the vehicle during the accident. He was pronounced dead Saturday afternoon at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin.
According to Tennessee Highway Ptl. Clint Todd, West was not wearing a seat belt at the time and the accident remains under investigation.
West was a 1994 graduate of Dresden High School.
He later went into the United States Air Force.
He was a member of the American Legion Post #55 of Martin. West was employed at the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. in Union City in the maintenance department.
West was born in Martin. His father is Randall K. West of Adamsville. He was preceded in death by his mother Kathy Barner West Childress.
He has three children, Mattie West of Martin, Jordan West and Joey West, both of Sioux Falls, S. Dak.
Services for West are planned for 3 p.m. on Wednesday at the Bowlin Funeral Home in Dresden.
Burial will follow at Eastside Cemetery in Dresden.
