Preregistration for the 2010-11 Union City Schools kindergarten and pre-kindergarten programs will be Thursday from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. in the schools library at Union City Elementary School, located at 1100 South Miles Ave.
Children who will be 5 years old on or before Sept. 30 are eligible to attend kindergarten in 2010-11. Children who will be 4 years old on or before Sept. 30 are eligible to register for the pre-kindergarten program.
Separate registration for that service is required. Bus transportation will be offered.
The following records are required for school entrance: the child’s Social Security card, the child’s birth certificate, the child’s immunization record and a current physical exam record for the child. Parents who do not have one or more of these items are encouraged to attend registration anyway, a spokesman said, adding, “We look forward to seeing you and your child at registration.”
Those who cannot attend the registration day but who plan to have a child enrolled in kindergarten or pre-kindergarten at UCES are urged to call the school at 885-1632 right away.
