SF senior honored by Beta

The Messenger 03.24.10 South Fulton High School senior Brittany Benjamin has been named a Beta Scholar by the National Beta Club, which entitles her to a $1,000 scholarship. She was recommended for the award by SFHS Beta Club sponsor Brandi Cantrell and SFHS principal Adam Stephens and competed against more than 1,000 candidates nationwide for the honor, with 217 scholarship recipients chosen. She plans to attend the University of Tennessee at Martin. Miss Benjamin is the daughter of Danylle and Miguel Lira of South Fulton and Michael and Judy Benjamin of Glendale, Ariz. “This outstanding young lady represents the true spirit of National Beta, having excelled not only academically, but in leadership and service to school and community as well,” National Beta Club executive director Ken Cline said.
