Mabel Louise Bard Copeland, 83, of Paducah, Ky., a former resident of this area, died 8:10 p.m. April 9, 2010, at her home.
Services were set for noon today at Hornbeak Funeral Home in Fulton, with the Rev. Nick Jaeger officiating. Burial was to follow in Water Valley (Ky.) Cemetery.
She was born May 7, 1926, in Gaylordsville, Conn., daughter of the late Elias and Grace (Thompson) Olson. She was the widow of John Paul Bard and of Berry Paul “Bill” Copeland and was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Paducah.
She was a charter member of Order of Eastern Star and the American Legion, both of Water Valley, and had been a bank officer for the former Fulton Bank.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan (Bard) Runyon of Paducah; four grandchildren, John David Travis of Paducah, Michelle Leigh Hartigan of Water Valley, John Carroll Jackson of Byhalia, Miss., and Melissa Jamison of Rosemont; 11 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Helen Lord of Bridgeport, Conn.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Shirley Anne Bard; and her brother, Gordon Olson.
