Alex D. Wood and Michael L. Wood, both of Hornbeak, recently qualified for the fall Dean’s List at Belmont University in Nashville.
They are the sons of Rebecca Veach and they are both majoring in music education at Belmont, where both are actively involved in several music ensembles and campus ministries.
Dean’s List eligibility at Belmont is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours and a quality grade point average of 3.5, with no grade below a C.

Two Obion County students have been awarded scholarships for the 2010-11 academic year to attend the University of Tennessee at Martin.
They include:
• Nathaniel Kendall, son of Steve and Camille Kendall of Troy, who received the Chancellor’s Award.
• Matthew Roberson, son of William and Catherine Roberson of Troy, who received the Chancellor’s Award.
Both will be freshmen at UT Martin.

Morgan Lee Patterson of Humboldt has been recognized by the United States Achievement Academy as a student of excellence in band and science, as well as due to her leadership and recognition on the honor roll.
She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Greg Patterson of Humboldt. Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Freddy Jordan of Kenton, Mr. and Mrs. Alton Patterson of Medina and Mr. and Mrs. John Few of Jackson.
She is also a twirler and 4-H Club member.
Miss Patterson attends Humboldt Middle School. She was nominated for the honor by teacher Shirley Daniels.
