UC man charged
The Messenger. 11.26.07 A drug-related charge was levied against a Union City man following a traffic stop Saturday night in Union City. Jonathan Frederick Walker, 30, of 428 High St., Union City, was arrested at 8:34 p.m. in the 100 block of West Main Street in Union City on a charge of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance (cocaine), according to a Union City Police Department report. A police officer initiated a traffic stop at First and West Main streets after allegedly observing the driver of a vehicle not wearing a seat belt. During contact with the driver, identified as Walker, an officer reported he detected an odor of marijuana coming out of the vehicle. The police department’s drug detection dog alerted on the driver’s side of the vehicle. During a search, police found a clear baggy containing a white rocky substance inside one of Walker’s shoes, but no marijuana, according to the report.
