New classes join favorites at UT Martin's Kid College

Kid College at the University of Tennessee at Martin has inspired the desire to inquire by providing children with an opportunity to have a fun, learning experience each summer.
This year, several new classes have been added to the perennial favorites — Space Camp, How to Be a Pet Pro, Grossology, Painting on Glass and Beginning Guitar.
The new classes include Art FUNdamentals, Computer Genius, The Great Dinosaur Mystery, Spanish, Mad Scientists, Soccer, American Girl Doll Fashion Boutique and Lifesaving 101.
The nine-day program for children who will attend kindergarten in 2010 through fifth grade is slated for June 7-17. Children may take up to five courses.
Kindergarten through second grade students may choose from Art FUNdamentals, Baking with Miss Baker, Bird Feathers and Fun, Cheer-leading, Computer Genius, Drawing Corner, the Great Dinosaur Mystery, Jr. Space Challenge-Mars, Jr. Space Camp, Karate, Spanish, Li’l American Girl Fashion Boutique, Mad Scientists, Munchable Math Fun, Playdough, Soccer, Practicing Pet Pros and more.
Children in grades 3-5 may choose from Science Central, Pioneer Life, Cheerleading Queens, Karate for Kids, Scrapbook Fun, Hocus Pocus or Hocus Focus?, Beginning Guitar, Painting on Glass, Let’s Make Some Music, Sr. Space Camp, Advanced Explorers of Ancient Egypt, Crafty Kids, Grossology, A Blast with the Past, American Girl Doll Fashion Boutique, Cheerleading, Spanish, Practicing Pet Pros, Baking with Miss Baker, Playdough, Kids with Cameras, Wearable Art, Whiz Kids, Chemical Reactions, Yoga and more.
An open house will be held 4:30-6 p.m. June 17.
Registration fee is $40 per class and Kid College T-shirts are available for an additional $10.
